Liquid Glycerin as relief for constipation?
Has anyone every used liquid glycerine mixed with water and injected into the rectum for relief of constipation? I have used it many times, but wonder if it is safe – no consequences as of yet.
If you’re suffering from constipation, you should really get to the bottom (no pun) of it and find out its cause. If you’re on a high fiber diet and still having this problem, consider populating your large bowel with analogues of Lactobacillus acidophilus. It is the friendly bacteria that converts milk sugar into yogurt. These capsules should be available refrigerated from a Health Food Store. Try them on a daily basis. They should work unless you have something organically wrong with you.
Glycerine suppositories should be reserved for desperate times.
